«ANASTASIA» a restaurant is not just a place where you can taste Ukrainian cuisine in the center of Italy. It is a true center of the Ukrainian soul, traditions and warmth. Its founder, Mykola Oleksiv , built not just a business, but a space in which hundreds of Ukrainians feel closer to home every day.

“When we opened, the Italians did not know what dumplings, borscht or pancakes were. We gradually introduced traditional Ukrainian dishes on the menu, explained that it is, as it is prepared, why it is important to us. Now many of our permanent Italians have a favorite Ukrainian dish. One enjoys potato dumplings, the other comes exclusively on pancakes with mushroom sauce, and there are those who even order borsch for the whole family, ”Mykola says.

The restaurant is prepared from Ukrainian recipes, but with the European level of submission: “We do not just put borsch in the plate. We all have beautiful, with style, taste – that both ours and strangers see that Ukrainian cuisine is not something primitive, but a true gastronomic culture worthy of the best restaurants. “

The menu is constantly updated, seasonal novelties are added. For example, during Easter – Easter, jelly, roast, and in winter – kutia, compote and traditional Ukrainian salads.

“Our staff is pride. I always say: the establishment holds on the team. And I have a strong team. These are people who not just do the job, but live in this business, ”Mykola Oleksiv  emphasizes.

Anastasia works mainly Ukrainians – those who left the country at one time but did not lose their love for their culture. Many came as a waiter or a novice cook, and over the years he grew up to a chief or manager.
“We put in training, in the atmosphere. Every waiter knows not just a menu – he knows the history of dishes, is able to advise, tell an interesting detail. And yet – always smiling and sincere. This is what creates the special service that our guests love. “

“We have created a restaurant where you can not only eat but also feel at home. We always sound Ukrainian music, there are thematic evenings, concerts, broadcasts important for Ukraine, ”says restaurateur.

The restaurant often turns into a meeting for meetings of the Ukrainian community: “We celebrate Christmas, Easter, Independence Day. We make themed evenings – for example, the evening of embroidery or evening of Ukrainian poetry. This is very important, especially now. People need support, unity. And here they find it. “

There are also visitors who come from other cities in Italy to visit the restaurant and just be among their own.

Мykola is convinced that standing still means to lose.
“We are constantly changing something. So update the interior, then add new dishes, then improve the processes in the kitchen. I study myself, I teach others. Even when all is well, it’s not a reason to relax. It’s a reason to do even better. ”

He confesses that he wants to make «ANASTASIA» not just the best Ukrainian restaurant in Italy, but an example for anyone who wants to open establishments abroad and not be ashamed of their culture.

ANASTASIA is more than a restaurant. This is a place where Ukraine remains nearby, even when you are far from home.
